This app serves as a movie diary, allowing users to log the films they've watched, rate them, and jot down their thoughts. Additionally, users can explore public ratings and synopses for movies. It's designed for movie enthusiasts and those who want to remember what they've watched.

User research: summary
I conducted interviews and designed maps to gain insights into user needs. A primary user segment identified consists of adults seeking a straightforward, private app exclusively for their personal use, where they can share reviews without receiving negative feedback.
The Goal:
Create an app for Popreview that enables users to easily and privately record their personal movie reviews
Responsibilities
Performing individual interviews, both digital and paper-based wireframing, developing low and high-fidelity prototypes, conducting usability assessments, ensuring accessibility, and continuously refining designs.

I developed a personalized movie app as part of the Google UX Design Specialization Certificate program. This app allows users to write reviews and maintain a personal collection akin to a diary, but for movies. To kick off the low-fidelity stage, these screenshots display the current films available for the month in a straightforward manner.
These are clickable movie posters that allow you to explore each film's synopsis and its rating out of 5 stars
Mock-ups
These initial designs played a pivotal role in tailoring the movie review app. Upon scrolling, you'll discover additional movies currently available. The vibrant colors breathe life into the interface without overwhelming the user experience.

Usability study: findings
I conducted two rounds of usability studies involving different users. Insights gathered from the initial study informed the refinement of wireframes into mockups. The second study utilized the high-fidelity prototype, highlighting areas within the mockups that required adjustments.

For the movie review section, I've maintained a clean and intuitive design, staying true to the app's primary colors of blue and red. This ensures simplicity while aligning with the overall app aesthetic.

Accessibility considerations
Used icons to help make it easier for people to navigate
Have names under icons or next to them to help out older folks who don’t understand icons
Use clear and big descriptive imagery to help all users better understand the designs

Impact:
The Popreview app has significantly fulfilled user needs.
What I learned:
During the design process of the Popreview app, I discovered that conducting interviews and gathering feedback from users has been immensely beneficial.
